Bottleneck Avenger Who’sKnit
AKA Rachael’s Hot Water Bottle Cozy

Yarn: Approx. 190 yds worsted weight (I used Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride)
Needle: 7 US 16 inch circular or to achieve gauge.
Gauge: 16 stitches per 4 inches, 24 rows per 4 inches
Cast on 62 st, join.
Knit 15, place marker. This is now the beginning of the round.
Body:
Row 1: k around, increasing 2 stitches evenly spaced throughout round.
Rows 2 – 4: Repeat row 1 (70 stitches total)
Row 5: k12, p2, k6, p2, knit to marker.
Rows 6 – 9 – Repeat row 5
Row 10 – k12, p2, Slip the next three stitches onto cable needle and hold behind work. Knit the next three stitches from the left-hand needle, then knit the three stitches from the cable needle, p2, K to marker.
Rows 11-15 – Repeat row 5
Row 16 – Repeat row 10
Repeat rows 11-16 until work is 10in long.
Neck decrease:
At marker: k 12, p2, maintain cable pattern, p2, k 12, place marker, k35, place marker, k13 (removing old marker). Maintain pattern.
As you come to both markers:
2 stitches before marker, k2 tog, slip marker, k1, ssk.
Do this four times around, maintaining cable pattern, until 54 stitches are left. Decrease 2 evenly in next round.
Neck:
k2, p2 around, until the neck is 8 inches long (total length 18in)
Finishing:
Bind off all stitches.
Sew bottom closed.
Slip your hot water bottle in and boil up some water! Hope for cramps!
