Okay, 8 minutes to go before work starts. Of course, what's the worst they can do if I'm late, fire me? Hee hee. But that goes against every grain in my body, so I'll be quick.
I forgot, when it happened, to say something about the whole Arnold thing. That day, it was the biggest news out here, on all the front pages. People were talking about it everywhere. One little old lady in Barnum, at the diner where I got pork chops, mashed potatoes, peas, and soup for a little over 4 bucks, had an interesting comment.
"California has always been kind of odd, kind of different. Back in the 1600's there were maps that showed California as an island, all off on its own. I think that's still the case."
Luckily, the furor has died down, and I can still say I am from California with only the same sheepishness I had before. California is odd. It was before him, it will be after him. This doesn't change the state in the eyes of the nation, only furthers its already tawdry reputation. Sorry guys, I'm getting a different perspective out here.
Until later, "Look at the positive in every challenge and acheive Success and Excellence the ***** way."
