The "wolf" is actually just a big, energetic puppy. He came roaring up to me, and I had visions of the time I was hiking on High Mountain Road, and was suddenly surrounded by a half dozen barking, snarling guard dogs. Actually, it turned out about the same way. That time, it turned out that the largest of them all, a Great Dane whose head came up to my shoulder, was a big ole softie. Upon befriending him, he protected me from all the other meanies. This particular big guy shown below loved fetching ANYTHING. After several stick tosses with a pathetically small twig, I dropped Stripes accidentally. Great photo op, but it took some doing to get Stripes free again. Like me, he's going to be much the worse for wear by the end of this trip.
Unfortunately, I can't add anything to the debate of "where's Bethany". I was on my zippy (for me) trip from Minneapolis to Atlanta. I think I was somewhere in Indiana... or was it Tennessee? I'll research that a bit more.
The background to the grinning nighttime me is the Minneapolis Holiday Lights Parade. There were great glowing fairy tale floats, including a princess on a huge pile of neon mattresses, a pirate ship, and these folks dressed up like lightbulbs.
The buds are Tara, Ryan, and Sindija. A big shout out to them.
The cow wearing a chef hat and bib was standing outside a burger joint. Seems slightly... morbid, or something.
The shoe shot was on my way back from the bar my last night in town. Amazed I didn't fall over. Actually, I think I might have. Oh, I miss the cold wet snow.
And that's all. From the here and now, I have nothing to talk about. So I will rehash old travel stories, and shove my pictures in your face, like a vet at a dive bar pulling down his pants to show you his old war wounds.

The pics are great - I love dthe puppy!
I should have recognized the Holidazzle light bulbs... I've lived here for years, and have never gone to that parade - could be because I HATE cold, and sitting out in the cold for hours sounds like a particular hell to me... (Explain to me why I moved back from CA to MN again... oh, yeah. Family...)

Well I was going to post and say that the parade is called the Holidazzle, but your friend Melissa beat me to it. Rats!

From the here and now, I have nothing left to talk about. I so seriously doubt that.
I was glad you accidentally dropped Stripes. I was really hoping you weren't playing fetch with him.

we actually used to have a vet in town(hmb) that would come into offices and demand service for free because 'he was a vet', then proceed to drop his pants with the phrase 'see my scars' never in any underwear, never mind that most of the scars were from the waist up....we had to call the cops the last time he did that to my mother.
sorry pointless, yet slightly related story.

Bethany, what a pleasure it has been to have you and Noah come to visit. It was both fun and important to show up for Kira & Rachel's celebrations, and fun to meet Kira's family, I thought!
You were easy guests, I hope that we were easy hosts! despite the sneezing and blowing... I hope we didn't share the cold.
Keep in touch, if you can manage to add yet another correspondent to your scroll... Safe journeys,
