Snow! We have Snow!
All day yesterday it was just drifting lazily down. It was so light, I thought it was ash, or dandruff, but nope, it was snow! And then just before I left my lovely warm coffee shack with its satellite TV, it really started snowing. Yay! There’s even still just a touch left on the ground. Not nearly as impressive as the first snow this year, but this time it feels like it might just keep going. And going, and going. Am I crazy? I can’t wait for the snow to be piled high. Big mounds of the stuff. I just had a vision of the back yard, full of fantastical snow men and forts. Whaddya call it when you build a little home out of snow? Not an igloo… is that a yurt? Whatever it is, I want to build one. And eat graham crackers inside of it, while watching the snow fall. Let’s see, other news… I worked a ten hour day at the coffee shop yesterday. Although ‘work’ is really to strong a word. Every now and then I would fix someone a coffee, but for the most part, I sat next to the heater, knitting, and watching Gilmore Girls. And Buffy. And about fifty episodes of Law and Order. That show must be on all day long, on one channel or another. That is what I call a job. Today I have the whole day off, and I was planning on starting to tile. Instead, I am going to play hookey and head up to Plains for knitting and companionship. And maybe a hot tub on the way. Woo!

A White Thanksgiving? too much, I'm thinking.
We tried to raise you in one of the best climates in the world, and now you think we snow-deprived you. All I remember about snow is cold wet feet, mud all over and a good chance of falling on your butt.
we got several christmas letters already...we transit people have a law, the trolley can't start playing christmas carols until after Thanksgiving.

Hi, Beth!
Imagine my surprise upon just now discovering I can say hi to you via your jjj (juicy journal junction)! All this time I've been delightedly reading your entries, not suspecting how easily I could let you know how much I appreciate them...and you! And your adventuresome spirit! I look forward to one day reading a spicy, witty, winsome printed-on-paper version of your, Tach's and Stripes' jaunts...maybe a cross between Blue Highways and Rough Guides...something that finances updates and new jaunts. Happy Thanksgiving to one great, amazing, multifaceted and multitalented gal!
Love, Gaynelle

Hi, Beth
I've been reading your blog for quite a while now, and I just want to say how much admire your spirit to go out and travel the country alone and how you just picked up and moved to Montana. Wish I were as brave!

Glad you're so excited about your snow! (I can barely remember what snow felt like at this point.) That job sounds great. That's my idea of a good time...paid to watch "Gilmore Girls" while doing something creative with only minimal interruptions for work. And coffee! Yum! (When our boss goes to the States, I often spend time at the office reading magazines...and getting irritated if I get a phone call that requires me to do some actual work.) Hope you had a fun weekend in your early winter playground.
