Ack2
You know you’re sick when you can’t knit. I can’t even bear to touch anything, or have anything touch me, and the very thought of wool running through my hands makes me squirm. And that’s just too sad. A cold, sure, knit away. But this kind of flu? I want to lie in bed and never move again.
But I’m up for a minute to say: Thanks for the comments. I swear to god, I got up just to read them, to make myself feel better. And they work! I love two things when I’m sick, and two things only: 1 – taking my temperature (I have one of those electronic dealies) and 2 – getting nice notes from wonderful people who want me to feel better.
The only thing about being a grown-up and living alone is that you have to take care of yourself. It’s so easy to just let the kleenex pile up on the floor and eat nothing but vitamins and that last piece of wrapped cheese, but it does make you a little sad. Just a little. I was lying on my sofa, thinking of the good old days when my little mama would cater to me, bringing me Nilla wafers and 7-Up, and I wished for one small feverish (101.5) moment that I was little again. And you know what?
That’s when sis Christy came over bearing:
Taco Bell Mexican Pizza
7-Up
Ginger ale
Nilla wafers
Orange juice
Theraflu
Good wishes
Aren’t I luckiest? Just a little food in my tummy and a lot of love in my heart – I’ll be better in no time and knitting again. Now back to bed with me (101 even).

Feel better! I know what you mean about wishing for someone to come cater to you. I'm glad someone showed up! I think I need to cultivate friends and family lke that for the next time I'm sick. :-) Drink lots of fluids besides the 7 up, if you can handle them.

I love TheraFlu. Who wouldn't want a hot, steamy mug of medicinal goodness rather that a cold, hard little pill?
Speedy recovery.

Get well soon! And thanks for updating even though you're feeling crummy. We miss you when you're gone :-)
P.S. Taco Bell....YUM.

Hope the pizza does the trick! I just finished a rotten cold and there was a day or two there that -I- felt too awful to knit. Feel better soon!

Hi, sicko! Say, I'd love to get a copy of the BAWK pattern, especially since we're having a truly weird winter and I'm counting on my hot water bottle more than ever to get me through the next three or four months. Love my hot water bottle but could do without that hot, plasticy, rubbery feel against my feet.
Okay, okay, okay, I suppooooooooooooooooose I can wait until you feel better. Had the flu once. Never again, never, never, never!

Oh RAchael....I didn't post yesterday cuz I hoped you were SLEEPING all cuddled up with cats and someone was bringing you soup and crackers and ginger ale...
Wish I lived closer...I'd come and read you stories and play my guitar (quietly) and keep a graph chart of temperature readings...with a fountain pen of course...gad I thought I was the only geek about temps...giggle...
shoulda KNOWN.
FEEL BETTER, please.
Miss your awesome rockstar knitting!

I feel bad I haven't been over here but once all week. And here you are sick! As punishment for neglecting you in your time of need, your comment program has conveniently forgotten my name.
Hope you feel better sweetie! Sounds like you have the major suckinola version of the bug. Try some Hershey's syrup on the vanilla wafer.

I can hear you snuffling from here. You've inspired me to go get my flu shot, which I will do as soon as I come back from Thanksgiving.
To Christy: thanks for being such an awesome sister to my pal.
