Cracking open the Sofia Coppola Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine (let's just call it champagne, shall we? Flout the Treaty of Versailles). It comes with its own straw! Champers in a can! Just the thing to celebrate, don't you think?

Raising my morning cuppa to you from the other side of the world. I know what it feels like to type those words and what a major accomplishment it truly is. Go girl!
Sweetheart, Mazel tov! But for this kind of accomplishment, may I suggest that you treat yourself to a glass? With a stem? It will taste that much sweeter!
Congrats! Mazel Tov! I have yet to finish my first draft of my play two years in the writing. . . Course, I've been battling illness, bedbugs, mites, and multiple moves! I have to move again at the end of the month - but MUST have a 1st draft by my residency beginning of Nov.
Get some real champagne - at least some veuve - you deserve it!
Not to be nit-picky and all, but it can't be called champagne unless it comes from the Champagne region of France. Much like Bourbon. I never knew this about Bourbon but my husband told me. Heh. Men would know about booze, right? From http://www.straightbourbon.com/whatisbourbon.html
"Though technically Bourbon can be made anywhere, Kentucky is the only state allowed to put its name on the bottle. And as Kentucky distillers are quick to point out, Bourbon is not Bourbon unless the label says so."
Yay! Congratulations!
P.S. The tank you made looks fantastic! Perhaps once I'm not so full of baby, it should jump onto my needles, too. It's very flattering on a fuller bust, so it may go with the nursing mother shape I'll be taking on soon.
Have never heard of that drink, with a straw no less! My only concern is that it will give future author a headache come morning ;) Congrats on finishing the book, so proud of you!
Big CongaRats on the novel! WhooHoo! Clapping wildly!...and strange coincidence, I sat in my camper with bestgirlfriendforever MK just the other night and popped my VERY FIRST (ahem..and second...) Sofia Coppola...and had to use my KnitPicks Options needle to dig the telescoping straw out...We told the kids mommies were drinking grape juice...lol! OK...AND...now you have convinced me I need a Coachella for my Las Vegas trip next month! Off to download the pattern now!

mmm, I just checked our soft drink machine here at the office and didn't find any Sofia Coppola Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine. Bummer.

Hooray on the novel! Hooray on champers in a can!
Speaking of celebration...It has been weeks since we had a proper Digit update! How is the miracle cat? Still growling at his bum?
Posted by: Anne | Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 11:36
bubbly is definitely indicated. And I love the fact that it comes in a can. Now to find me some...
Posted by: Carol | Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 12:14
Celebrating with champagne. Good idea. My vintner husband would be very disturbed by it being in a can, though.

Oh! It's Eva's favorite! Yum!
Posted by: Celia | Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 14:21
The straw is my favorite part! I actually had this at a fancy restaurant once (straw and all) -- I wish I could find it here!

Posted by: Cathi | Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 18:39
Pink almost-champagne in a can? I don't think we have that here in Iowa!
