BOOK RELEASE DAY! March 1, 2011

All the excited words and exlamation marks can't tell you how over-the-moon I am that How to Knit a Heart Back Home is out today. YOU all know. It's been a long road, and it's been a whole YEAR since the first book came out -- can you believe that? I've been a published novelist for a year. And you know what? This morning, I'll wake up and make coffee and wander around the house, and nothing will have really changed, except that my book is out in the wild, making its own way, and I can't help it at all. It has to fend for itself.

That doesn't stop me from loving it, though. I love it so hard that I wrote a little song about it and played it on the uke for you. (And only with you, darling readers, will I share the link for the outtakes. Ahem.)

Like last year, I'm going to have a little drawing.

In order to be entered, just post a review (good, bad, or middlin') of my new book on any website: Amazon, B&N, Goodreads, or your own blog, by April 1st. Email me when you do, and I'll put you in the raffle!

   Handwoven scarf

Two runner-up prizes: $25 Barnes & Noble gift certificates

Grand prize: a $50 Barnes & Noble gift certificate

AND a handwoven scarf made just for you! (Choose your color; I'm having so much fun with my new Schacht Cricket loom!) It would look something like the scarf on the right, but you don't want that one, because it was my first and is a little bit wonky. (Also, I'll kick in a four-pack of Cadbury Creme Eggs, because everyone should have some this time of year.)

So. YAY! I seriously can't wait to hear what you think. (And I think I'll sleep in today, burrowing under the covers, reading a romance, hoping for the best.) ENJOY!

You = Rockstar. xoxo

Great song, I wish every book insight would be done that way :) can't wait to read the new book, I loved the first one...unfortunately it's gonna take some time until it makes its way to Luxembourg! Still congratulations and keep writing please ;)

OMG! I love this! This is such a great and personal introduction.
And CONGRATULATIONS on you book release, let's not forget that!

Great is my W00T!

Does my previously posted review count? :)

You're so cute! Love the song introduction and I will be buying your book this weekend! Loved How to Knit a Love Song and I know I will love this one!

Ordered my copy yesterday from Amazon - can't wait!! Congratulations, I have no doubt this will be as successful (or more so!) than the first one!

Congratulations Rachael! I can't wait to read the new book! I will order it from Amazon.ca this week - hoping the ".ca" will have it - they should LOL. Wowza :)

That was too cute Rachael! You have a great voice! I can't wait to read this one!

Happy Release day. I posted our little Q&A session on my blog.

Awesome song! Very impressive! Are you going to do this with each book you write? If you do then you can produce a CD to go along with the book! lol Loved it. Looking forward to the book loved the first one!

Now you are mkaing want to get a Cricket!!! I have already posted over on Facebook about how you are on Robyn Carr's blog today. I just finished Robyn's latest book. And now to move on to your new book. A very good time for reading.

And I may have mentioning something about a fiber bribe over on the blog post on Robyn Carr's blog. So if you are still undecided about trying to come to MDS&W this year, I vote that you should. I will even pull out the drum carder and create some luxery batts for you. Silk, camel, and who knows what else? And they smoosh down so they will fit in your suitcase. Just saying.......

Now I'm CRAZY excited to read the book after that song!

Love it! Love the song, and the outtakes too :), and I can't wait to read this book! Congrats!!

Love you babe! Great song and I can't wait to read your book.

Congratulations! I bet it skeins my cashmere like the last one did.

You are too adorable and your voice is so so rich and warm and lovely. Can't wait to read this one!

Mah-velous! I just ordered the book, and it should be here by the end of the week. Good thing too; I loaned your first book to my sister and she hasn't given it back :)

What a nice into to your newest book. You have a pleasant voice ... I watched/listened to the song twice. Can't wait to read How to Knit A Heart Back Home.

That's just too cute. I love the song and I got the book this morning via whispernet on Kindle. I'm already into the 3rd chapter and loving it already. Oh, I would also like to let you know that I've read your short story as well. I thought it was just great and very funny. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

Congrats! :)

Happy book day! Now, where to buy....

Here's the review I posted to B&N and Amazon:

That rare sequel that is even better than the first book!

Rachael Herron has done it again -- and even better than the first time! The characters are very believable, and make you want to root for them. Who could resist the tried-and-true good girl/bad boy romance? With more mystery, and less suspense, How to Knit a Heart Back Home is even more to my liking than How to Knit a Love Song. And the HUMOR -- Lucy's mother reminds me of (Janet Evanovich's) Stephanie Plum's Grandma Mazur! I very much look forward to Rachael's third book in the series, due out this fall.

I mean every word, Sweetie! The book was WONDERFUL!!!

Will save the song for home. A safer place.

Loved the song! I'm so amazed when poetry (especially song lyrics) can tell an entire story in a few lines -- that's a rare skill. And I admit that I like my poetry/songs to rhyme... Can't wait to read the new book. Congratulations!

Awesome song! Look forward to book release down here. Contests on another milestone - no first novel only problem here.

Yay! I'm planning to buy it tomorrow at my local independent bookstore. (I'm sure they'll have it, but if they don't, I'll make them get it!)

Congratulations, can't wait to read the new book. What a wonderful way to introduce it.

Loved the song! Congratulations on the release of your second book!

So excited to read the new book.

Your song! Your singing! I adore you!

Yay! Mine came from Amazon today!

Due to a severe lack of Internet in Big Bear, I overcame my horrible carsickness and read from the instant the wireless on my phone kicked on long enough to download my kindle copy.

Oh man. This is so so good. Dare I say I like it even more than the first?? It's hard to tell actually. I'll post my review on Amazon tomorrow but for now please just know how much I love it. I can't wait for the next one; I have no idea how but I know you'll make it so worth it.

LOVE the book!!! A friend let me know about you and your books. I'm glad she did! I really love the song too! You're so cute to post that for all of us. :)

Wow!! You have a great singing voice!!

Can't wait to read it!!

I am reading the book now and can't wait to finish it. It is wonderful and I think I may love it even more than the first book!

Woo hoo!

Hey tweasel. Never guessed you were so hawt when singin, but you totally are. Lala is one lucky, lucky girl. 4 some reason, my one click @ Amazon is not working right right now, and it's freezing here in so ca'lina so I'm not getting out of my nice warm bed to go get my card and re-enter it. I'll deal with the bank tomorrow and hopefully be reading on my laptop by tomorrow nite.

Love ya!

Yay, doll! Great huzzahs throughout the universe.

Very glad the book's out!

Love Love Love the book! I hope there is a third in the making! I am 1/2 way thru but I don't want it to end! Loved the short story too!

Great song. My baby stopped bouncing in his walker to listen, and when you were finished, he smiled. So did I. Good luck on sales!!

I just finished reading your book, and it's wonderful! Congratulations!

I wanted to tell you that I was very touched that you thanked me in your acknowledgements. It was a very gracious and thoughtful thing to do and I tear up a bit when I think about it.

I want you to do my next book pitch for me! And bring the uke.

Still working my way through it, but definitely enjoying it

I finished your book last night. Loved it. Loved your song. But I can't find an email address to let you know I reviewed the book on Goodreads (first one btw) and to enter your contest.

Great Song ... new book downloaded to Kindle for weekend reading (thanks for publishing on Kindle)... what pattern is the shawl/kerchief that you are wearing in the video ... looking forward to more...joy
