Hey! We think that an awful lot o'knitters out there have tattoos. Wanna show yours off? I'll show mine first 'cause I have NO shame.

I designed it myself. It's tiny and I like it that way. Although I'm thinking I should get one knit-related. Whatcha think? It's a pen, NOT a dagger. And no, it's NOT a sword. It's a pen. As if!
Send me some photos, peeps! I'll even keep you anonymous, if you want to play that way. Extra snaps to those who wear something they've made in the photo. C'mon. You know you wanna. First one with a knit-related tattoo wins a (leetle) prize.
Ding Ding Ding!
We have another entry! (and now I'm not alone in the hot-tub, thank god)
The lovely Cari:

Yowza! Who's next?

And We Have A Winner!
The first knit-related tattoo. And is this surprising? No, not even a little bit, even though it CRACKED me up. It's the fabulous Wendy, of COURSE, with her shaun tattoo:

Yes, we know. Wendy IS the bomb. She wins a little tin of this:

Knitter's Little Helper Hand Balm, from Blue Sky Alpacas. I tried this recently, and I thought it was going to be just a silly marketing ploy. But it smelled terrific and sank in well. Hope you like it, Wendy!
Who now?
Okay, I'll just add them as we get them, no? It's amazing!

This is funny--I'm also a librarian and a friend of mine is always searching for librarians with tattoos to update the image most people have of librarians--AND she's a knitter. Unfortunately, she doesn't have any tattoos. We'll have to work on that!
I have a tattoo but no digital camera right now--but I'll borrow one from work (high school library) and send a pic next week.
What a cool idea, Rachael!

Rach, I like your pen. Your comments lead me to ask if you know Seamus Heaney's poem, "Digging." Let me know if you want me to send it to you. All this may inspire me to get inked!

I linked here from Wendy's site, and I'm a knitter with a big back piece - I can send a pic, but where should I send it? I don't see your e-mail addy. You can check it out at http://profiles.yahoo.com/zenspinner if you like. It's been embellished with body paint, but the lion, lady and flowers are real. :)

I have a few so far, I don't mind sharing... I'll email them later today.....
oh, nothing knit related, though I was sorely tempted to get tiny fb/bf (just those letters, but decoratively rendered) tattoos on my hands - ie, front to back lifted increase on one side, back to front on the other... thankfully I memorized it before that foolishness came to pass.

LOVE Shaun! That is the cutest tattoo I have ever seen. I had just decided to remain body art free, but I think that might change my mind.
Rach - how about a little striped sock on your ankle? maybe with needles, or yarn coming from it.
Or a huge needle running up your leg to a ball of yarn on your butt cheek. Hee hee. I like that one. Probably wouldn't be to pretty, though.

I have a full back piece and two half sleeves. Where should i send the pics?
Posted by: liz | October 10, 2003 at 10:08 AM
Woohoo, tattoo show and tell! I have 14 (some are very small), I will share as soon as I get a friend to take pics for me. I love, love, love your blog by the way. :)

This I think is the coolest knitting related thing I have ever seen.

courtney of rosie's yarn cellar in philadelphia, even though she is not pictured here (yet), still is the sweeping victor in my book.

update on courtney of rosie's yarn cellar in philadelphia, and her tattoo...
i went to the store today to see if she would let me photograph it for this page -- and found out that i was beaten to the punch -- by VOGUE knitting. apparently THEY are coming to photograph courtney sometime soon!
so, keep your eyes open for that particular magazine.
courtney is hardcore.

OK I know I'm hella late but here's a really great knitting tat:

The guy who got it works at the bakery around the corner from my house. I can't imagine how much pain all this ink totals up to... (1 tattoo was enough for me)

I am really late to the party...Cari suggested that I send in a photo of my tattoos, but somehow I can't get the email link to work (my computer is wonky sometimes) Are you still accepting submissions?
